đź‘‹ Hi! I'm Aritro

...

I'm a high school student in Dubai interested in the intersections between Applied Mathematics, Environmental Science, and Social Entrepreneurship.

Ever since I discovered my love for patterns and puzzles through Sudokus on discarded newspapers, problem-solving has remained an integral part of my life. Over the years, I've channeled this passion into a variety of national and international pursuits; from winning the Kenken International Championship in New York City 3 times, to coming first in my country's National Mathematics Qualifier and getting the opportunity to represent them at various international mathematical competitions.

But beyond problem-solving, I am drawn to applied mathematics for its applications in wider societal issues. For example, I've worked at the Prison Math Project to create mathematical modules for incarcerated individuals in highly-restrictive environments in topics ranging from Algebra to Calculus.

This interest in social impact has naturally extended to environmental science—and realizing the role of quantitative analysis in environmental research has fueled my passion for pursuing interdisciplinary projects between these fields.

As a Non-Trivial Fellow—selected as 1 of 100 fellows from over 20,000 applications—I've received the mentorship and resources to develop solutions to the world's most pressing problems, from impact areas in AI safety and nuclear terrorism to institutional decision-making and biosecurity.

I also host The Eco-Perspectives Podcast, aimed at inspiring the next generation of environmental changemakers through conversations with leading climate scientists, entrepreneurs, and youth advocates.

The culmination of my journey is highlighted by my recent address to global leaders and policymakers at the Science Summit at UN General Assembly 78, where I was invited to speak on the role of youth in achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and my personal experiences in doing so.

So, I invite you to explore my website further to learn more about my academic pursuits, programs, community initiatives, research endeavours, awards, and more. For a formal summary of my profile, see my CV here, and feel free to email me about my work, opportunities, or other general inquiries here.
